A Long Beach dispensary chain is largely behind the effort to open up El Segundo, Hermosa, Manhattan and Redondo to legal weed.

Beach city residents may soon be able to walk down the street to purchase marijuana, of both the recreational and medicinal varieties.

At least if a couple of budding cannabis moguls have their way.

Nearly simultaneous efforts are underway in El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach to either persuade the respective city councils to open the door to cannabis dispensaries or send the issue to voters next year.
