Inc () (OTCMKTS:CBIIF) and () (OTCMKTS:VVCIF) are teaming up to help people choose the right medical cannabis treatment.
The cannabis data analytics company announced Tuesday that it signed a new research agreement with VIVO to help the cannabis producer develop a new global medical product development strategy.
Toronto-based CB2 will integrate its clinical data management software and electronic data capture tools to help create a better understanding of VIVO’s medical patient registry.

The two companies will also work together on a multi-phase research strategy to validate the safety and effectiveness of current products. The plan is expected to provide insight that will help to design future clinical trials of cannabis-based medicines.
“As the industry continues to evolve, regulatory bodies are putting greater emphasis on the validation of cannabis-based treatments through clinical trial data to measure their safety and efficacy,” said Prad Sekar, CEO of CB2.

Napanee, Ontario-based VIVO has a collection of premium cannabis brands, including domestic medical cannabis platform Harvest Medicine, a network of specialty medical cannabis clinics and services.
CB2 concentrates on real-world evidence obtained from data outside randomized trials and generated during routine clinical practice. The company has created tools that engage the medical community and provide the data doctors and other professionals need to recommend with confidence cannabis-based medicines.
