High Hampton gets municipal go-ahead to operate distribution facility in California

The new facility will add 15,000 square feet to High Hampton’s network of operations across California

The distribution hub will service northern California

High Hampton Holdings Corp () announced Wednesday that it had received approval for its wholly-owned distribution arm Bravo Distro to operate a wholesale cannabis distribution facility in West Sacramento, California.

The Toronto-based cannabis brand and distribution company formed a development agreement with West Sacramento’s city council for a conditional use permit, which allows it to operate the distribution hub in the city’s M-1 zone.

"In the parlance of California's cannabis regulatory framework, this is a huge step forward,” said Gary Latham, High Hampton’s CEO in a statement.

According to the company, California relies heavily on the judgement of local government as a first step in determining the suitability of a location and an operator for a licensed cannabis business, which means the process for obtaining agreements is incredibly involved.

“Quite correctly, the city wants to get it right before they allow a business to move forward with cannabis operations, and we are pleased to have successfully completed this process,” said Latham in a statement.

Upon completion, the new facility will add 15,000 square feet to High Hampton’s network of operations across California. The building will primarily serve the northern part of the state, while the company’s Cudahy operation in Los Angeles County will service southern California.

The Toronto-based company plans to begin construction on its distribution hub following a city plan check expected in the coming weeks.

Shares of High Hampton closed at $0.35 on Tuuesday.
