Mota Ventures strikes cannabis research pact with leading Colombian university

Corp (), previously known as Primary Energy Metals Inc (CSE:PRIM) (OTCMKTS:PEMTD) said Thursday that its subsidiary Ihuana S.A.S., has forged a research pact with La Fundacion Universitaria de Ciencias de la Salud (The University Foundation of Health Sciences) in Bogota, Colombia. 

Ihuana and the University will cooperate in working on scientific investigations related to the medical use of cannabis products.

The Colombian university is a non-profit organisation set up in 1976. It boasts extensive technology, including diagnostic imaging and an automated clinical laboratory as well as labs for biology, biochemistry, immunology, histology and genetics.

The research groups from Ihuana and the University will work together to design studies; Ihuana will supply an array of resources, including testing materials, while the University will offer the infrastructure.

“This partnership gives us an immediate foothold in the medicinal market in Colombia,” said Joel Shacker, Mota’s CEO. “We are very fortunate to partner with one of the leading universities in South America. This will allow for rapid development of new products for the domestic and international markets.”
