The Green Organic Dutchman expands Canadian distribution to three new provinces, launches "budtender" certification program

The company gained access to 340 new retail stores in Alberta, Manitoba and Nova Scotia

TGOD's budtender education and in-store activation events are designed to inform customers about the benefits of buying organic cannabis products

() (OTCMKTS:TGODF) announced new cannabis orders from Alberta, Manitoba and Nova Scotia that ship out this month, which significantly increases the company’s distribution area. 

Adding the three provinces gives the organic cannabis company access to more than 340 new retail stores, on top of its current 24 stores in Ontario. 

"As we continue scaling up our operations, we are now in a position to start distributing our premium certified organic cannabis products to additional provinces as well as launching new strains," Vice President of Sales Mike Gibbons said in a statement. "Retailers are eager to get access to larger quantities of premium, high-quality dried flower, a market segment currently undersupplied. We are on track to distribute nationally in Q1, 2020."

The company also announced the launch of two new strains in Ontario and the creation of the world’s first organic cannabis certification program for what it calls “budtenders.”

The educational program is being delivered in-person at every retail location distributing TGOD products, and more than 150 budtenders have been certified so far in Ontario alone.

The company is also hosting in-store activations across Canada to help consumers understand the benefits of buying a premium organic product. By the end of 2019, TGOD will have conducted 40 such activations, the company said. 

"Organic isn't an adjective, it is a fundamentally different consumer habit where people want to have transparency about where their products are coming from and what goes into them," Head of Marketing Drew Campbell said. "We want the first question for a budtender to ask when somebody goes in-store to be: Would you prefer organic?"
